All of us desire a strong close relationship with God and a purpose driven life for God. Let us start today by talking about our relationship with God.

Matthew 22:37
Jesus replied: "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.'
What would this look like " Love your 'job' with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind." What signs describe such a person?
Or what about this " Love your 'family' with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind." What signs describe such a person.
What is Jesus saying ? Is it to love you Job, family etc with all your heart, soul and mind or to Love God?

Luke 16:13
No servant can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money.
It seems Jesus is saying here that there are only two choices - serve God or serve money. You can't do both! What to choose is our decision.

1 John 2:15
Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
How do we fall into this trap of loving the world? [ through advertisements, friendships, wrong company, our bad experiences, our temptations of lust, greed, pleasure]
How have we fallen in the past in these traps? How did you get out of this?
How can we make sure that we don't get deceived into loving the world? Share examples.

John 14:23-24
23 Jesus replied, "If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.
24 He who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me.
If we claim that we love Jesus and we don't obey his teaching then they don't go together.
Loving Jesus = Obey Jesus teaching
Disobeying Jesus' teaching = not loving [hating] Jesus!
Studying out Jesus' teaching seriously = taking Jesus seriously
Ignoring the teachings of Jesus = Ignoring Jesus
How are we going to change this?
What decisions have you made recently?
Let each one of us pray for the renewal of our relationship with Jesus.
