1. John 14:5-9
5 Thomas said to him, "Lord, we don't know where you are going, so how can we know the way?"
6 Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
7 If you really knew me, you would know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him."
8 Philip said, "Lord, show us the Father and that will be enough for us."
9 Jesus answered: "Don't you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, 'Show us the Father'?
a. Jesus claimed to be the only way to God.
He is the way, the truth and the life. He is not simply "another prophet" (v6).
b. When we look at Jesus, we see God.
Analogy : If you wanted to communicate with an ant colony you would not shout at them, or send them a letter. You would send them an ant who knew what to say.
2. John 3:16-18
16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son.
a. God's reason for sending Jesus: love (v16). God loves you.
b. God gave us Jesus so we would not perish (v16).
c. Where do you stand: do you believe or not (v18)?.
3. Hebrews 9:27-28
27 Just as man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment,
28 so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.

c. Christ is coming back to save Christians (v28).
4. Acts 17:22-23
22 Paul then stood up in the meeting of the Areopagus and said: "Men of Athens! I see that in every way you are very religious.
23 For as I walked around and looked carefully at your objects of worship, I even found an altar with this inscription: TO AN UNKNOWN GOD. Now what you worship as something unknown I am going to proclaim to you.
Paul saw that they worshipped idols, and that they were not sure about God (v23).
He decided to explain about God to them.
5. Acts 17:24-31
24 "The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by hands.
25 And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything, because he himself gives all men life and breath and everything else.
26 From one man he made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live.
27 God did this so that men would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us.
28 'For in him we live and move and have our being.' As some of your own poets have said, 'We are his offspring.'
29 "Therefore since we are God's offspring, we should not think that the divine being is like gold or silver or stone--an image made by man's design and skill.
30 In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent.
31 For he has set a day when he will judge the world with justice by the man he has appointed. He has given proof of this to all men by raising him from the dead."
a. God is not confined by space in a temple (v24).
b. God does not need anything from us (sacrifices), because he made us (v25).
c. God determined when and where we should live for a purpose: that we should seek him and reach out for him (v26-27).
d. God is not far from you but you must make the effort (v27).
e. God is not an idol made by man (v29).
f. Ignorance is no excuse (v30).
g. God wants you to repent (v30).
h. God will judge you through Jesus (v31).
i. The proof: the resurrection of Jesus (v31).
