When we think of the word "Dream" we always picture something fabulous. None of us like to have night mares. But we like to see good dreams. At the bottom of our heart we always wish that those good dreams would come true.
T.S. Eliot wrote that the true dreamer is not of the night but he who dreams and acts by day.
The greatest dreamer that ever lived was Jesus. His dream became reality. He dreamed to change the world in one generation.
1. Dream and pass on the dream
Mark 1:16-18
16 As Jesus walked beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and his brother Andrew casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen.
17 "Come, follow me," Jesus said, "and I will make you fishers of men."
18 At once they left their nets and followed him.
Over here we see Jesus expected Simon, Andrew, James and John to follow him. Jesus dream is to evangalise every nation and so he passed on his dream to his disciples and taught them to be fishers of men.
Mark 3:13-14
13 Jesus went up on a mountainside and called to him those he wanted, and they came to him.
14 He appointed twelve--designating them apostles --that they might be with him and that he might send them out to preach
He chose 12 apostles to have his dream come true. He used them and gave them the purpose. As disciple we must dream the dream that Jesus dreamt of. We must dream of evangalising the area we stay, in office, and every where we go praying every single day for our dream to come true, working hard toward's it.
2. Dream to take up the responsibility
John 4:1-2
1 The Pharisees heard that Jesus was gaining and baptizing more disciples than John,
2 although in fact it was not Jesus who baptized, but his disciples.
Not only did Jesus Dream of doing his purpose. But even to see that the disciples also got the picture of Jesus’ dream. They were willing to take up the responsibility and they gave their best. Even after Jesus’ ressurrection we see the apostles took Jesus’ dream higher and
higher.
We as young disciples need to take up the responsibility of evangelising the nation, one person alone cannot do it but we all must be united to the purpose and help God's kingdom to grow very fast.
3. Dream to fulfill it
Luke 10:1-3
1 After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them two by two ahead of him to every town and place where he was about to go.
2 He told them, "The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.
3 Go! I am sending you out like lambs among wolves.
Jesus shows over here how the dream can be fulfilled. Harvest is plentiful and workers are few. He gave them the dream of being fruitful. As young disciples we should be eager to become fruitful and bring visitors, evangelise intensly.
Matthew 28:19-20
19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
Jesus even while leaving to go to heaven he gave his dream of saving people of every nation to his disciples is the same Christ dream is passed on to each one of us.
Let's have Jesus dream come true!
