Imagine suddenly one day God send his angels to guide us to His throne in heaven. What all you can see?
John saw (Read Revelation chapter 4 )
- God in the appearance of jasper and carnelian.
- A rainbow, resembling an emerald encircled the throne
- Jesus, the the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the root of David and a Lamb looking as if it had been slain.
- 24 other thrones with 24 elders seated, dressed in white and had crowns of gold, falling down before God.
- Sevenfold Spirit of God
- Four living creatures (Seraphs) with six wings and eyes all around
- 24 hours of Singing "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty"
- Great multitude from every nation, tribe, people and language with white robes worshipping God "Wisdom and thanks and honor and power and strength.
Revelation 7:9-12
9 After this I looked and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and in front of the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands.
10 And they cried out in a loud voice: "Salvation belongs to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb."
11 All the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures. They fell down on their faces before the throne and worshiped God,
12 saying: "Amen! Praise and glory and wisdom and thanks and honor and power and strength be to our God for ever and ever. Amen!"
- Lots of worship, singing.. And much much more.
How would we feel at the end of seeing everything? Overwhelmed with fear, joy...!!!! This is shown not only to John but also to Isaiah (Isaiah ch.6), Ezekial (Ezekial ch.1)
What was the response of Isaiah?
Isaiah 6:5
"Woe to me!" I cried. "I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips, and my eyes have seen the King, the LORD Almighty."
We will feel unworthy to stand in the middle of such holy place.
Showing His throne to John, Ezekial and Isaiah, we believe God had one thing in mind that they need to go and proclaim His glory.
Isaiah - God asking whom shall I send? Who will go for us? Isaiah responded - Here am I, send me.
Ezekial - God giving a charge.
Ezekial 2:3-8
3 He said: "Son of man, I am sending you to the Israelites, to a rebellious nation that has rebelled against me; they and their fathers have been in revolt against me to this very day.
4 The people to whom I am sending you are obstinate and stubborn. Say to them, 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says.'
5 And whether they listen or fail to listen--for they are a rebellious house--they will know that a prophet has been among them.
6 And you, son of man, do not be afraid of them or their words. Do not be afraid, though briers and thorns are all around you and you live among scorpions. Do not be afraid of what they say or terrified by them, though they are a rebellious house.
7 You must speak my words to them, whether they listen or fail to listen, for they are rebellious.
8 But you, son of man, listen to what I say to you. Do not rebel like that rebellious house; open your mouth and eat what I give you."
And whether they listen or fail to listen--for they are a rebellious house--they will know that a prophet has been among them.
John - I (Jesus) will give to everyone according to what he has done..whoever wishes, let him take the free gift of the water of life.
Revelation 22:12-17
12 "Behold, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to everyone according to what he has done.
13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.
14 "Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life and may go through the gates into the city.
15 Outside are the dogs, those who practice magic arts, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters and everyone who loves and practices falsehood.
16 "I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you this testimony for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the bright Morning Star."
17 The Spirit and the bride say, "Come!" And let him who hears say, "Come!" Whoever is thirsty, let him come; and whoever wishes, let him take the free gift of the water of life.
After God showing us His splendor of His throne in Heaven, would we ever have any second thought to proclaim His glory? Would we not be ready to do anything, go anywhere and give up everything for God?
Here is the question Peter asked and the answer Jesus gave.
Matthew 19:27-29
27 Peter answered him, "We have left everything to follow you! What then will there be for us?"
28 Jesus said to them, "I tell you the truth, at the renewal of all things, when the Son of Man sits on his glorious throne, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
29 And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life.
