2 Timothy 1:7
For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.
God wants us to discipline ourselves. We need a plan to help ourselves. If you are
thinking that one fine day things will start changing then it¡¦s never going to happen.
The only thing that grows by itself are weeds. However we are called to bear fruits for
our creator. The scripture makes it clear that God believe in us and expects us to apply
discipline in our lives.
Ephesians 5:15-17
15 Be very careful, then, how you live¡Xnot as unwise but as
wise,
16 making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. T
17 herefore
do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord¡¦s will is.
An empty mind is devil¡¦s workshop. If you don¡¦t plan out your life then the Devil will
always be there to help you. We need to see how we are living our lives daily. If we are
not prepared with plans for each day, there is a great chance we will end up struggling
with many temptations. We must use every opportunity to live for God.
Matthew 26:41
Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The
spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.¡¨
One of the best way to apply self-discipline is to start every day by praying about all the
things you will be doing today. If you can watch or see ahead what is coming and you
pray about it you will be prepared to face it.
Challenge
- Make a habit of having a schedule for the day and in the morning pray through
it.
