Hebrews 12:11
No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on,
however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have
been trained by it.
One of the things that we all need to focus on is why do we do what we do. If discipline
is applied properly in different areas of our life it can bear fruit that will last. However
that will require fight and denying yourself on a regular basis. We all are great men and
women in making if we allow God to work
1 Timothy 4:16
Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them,
because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers.
Keeping a check on the way we live especially when we are not in the company of other
disciples is very important. It’s easy to fall when we are in the world and when we are
faced with peer pressure. However that is our true test of character. How we persevere
in those trials will bear fruit not just in our life but in the life of those who are watching
us and can be saved through us.
John 12:24
Very truly I tell you, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground
and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds.
While we all have our sinful nature and our natural tendency might be to choose the
easy way out God intends us to be the seeds of future glory. And that will happen when
we make the choices to die to our sinful nature on daily basis. That is where our
character is developing. That is when Christ will shine through us.
Challenge
- What is one area of life where you have not been finding victory for a while
- Talk to your mentor and make a bold decision to find victory in your weakness.
Ask God to help you as you work on this.
