Psalm 91:3-4
3 Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence.
4 He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.

God is represented as a bird, sheltering young chicks under His wings. It is faith which makes us the little chicken and God the hen, so that we can hide, hope, hover and cover under his wings, for there is health in his wings.

This hidden life of worship and communion makes possible the public life of obedience and service. This God shelters us beneath the wings of the cherubim, but He also gives us the spiritual armor we need (Eph. 6:10–18). His truth and faithfulness protect us as we claim His promises and obey Him.
