Proverbs 22:26-27

26 Do not be one who shakes hands in pledge or puts up security for debts;
27 if you lack the means to pay, your very bed will be snatched from under you.

It is a dangerous thing to become responsible for the debts of other people. Personal debt is to be avoided, so how much more becoming surety for debts of another person.

Every man ought to be just to himself, and his family; those are not so, who, by folly or other carelessness, waste what they have.

Application

If you are struggling with finance, take advice from another person who is disciplined. If you are disciplined try to help someone who you think might not be disciplined with finance.
