Proverbs 22:28
Do not move an ancient boundary stone set up by your ancestors.

Deuteronomy 27:17 - Cursed is anyone who moves their neighbor’s boundary stone. Then all the people shall say, “Amen!”

A landmark – a custom, a tradition, or a value – should not be removed lightly. We should never assume that our fathers set such landmarks for no reason or bad reason.

We should not defend tradition for the sake of tradition, but neither should we destroy tradition just for the sake of destroying it.
