To filter through
Thanks for your opinions
And convictions too
To summarize
Here’s what was said
I’m pleased to know
Chivalry’s not dead
Many Brothers
Have risen to the task
In an effort to encourage
They always ask
Unfortunately
Some get rejected
And they themselves
Have been neglected
Turned down
No higher education
Turned down
For no transportation
Under employed
Made to feel inferior
Not measuring up
On the exterior
Is that you Sis
Is that what you’re doing
Rejecting Brothers
Who might be pursuing
You have the right
To choose whom you date
But consider how encouragement
Might change a Brother’s fate
As for the Brothers
Consider your life
Would it be attractive
To a potential wife
No judgement here
But consider this
Are you best positioned
To encourage that Sis
Your full potential
Is it your goal
To do your best
Without selling your soul
Brothers and Sisters
The stage is set
Encourage those
Who haven’t been yet
We’re sharing our faith
And baptizing others
But neglecting the needs
Of current Sisters and Brothers
We do our best
To help others to believe
But if they don’t feel Love
They’ll just leave
So please understand
What encouragement is for
It lessens the impact
Of that revolving door
It doesn’t really matter
What the event is called
As long as the encouragement
Or fellowship isn’t stalled
