My friend was studying
But hit a snag
Their relationship with God
Began to lag
I sent a text
And even called
We needed to discuss
Why the progress stalled
There was no answer
To my call or text
To be quite honest
That left me vexed
All of the time
I had invested
The money spent
On food they ingested
The late nights
The early days
To help them repent
From their evil ways
Despite my efforts
To give and serve
To be forgiven
Is not what they deserve
WAIT! WAIT! WAIT!
Now I clearly see
The most egregious sin
Was committed by me
I have no Love
For my so-called friend
If when they struggle
I want us to end
Forgive me Lord
For the evil I do
As You Love my friend
And expose me too
