Some things have become
Abundantly clear
As I’ve been Single
For less than a year
Dating is tough
Regardless of gender
Even more so
Than I remember
After being married
For 27 years
Being Single again
Was one of my fears
But I’m in the Kingdom
…Dating should be fun…
But the shortage of Brothers
Is problem number one
Of those available
Some don’t want to date
Whether to encourage
Or to find a mate
Is it selfishness
Or concealed sin
Whatever the case
Sisters can’t win
Yes, they can ask
And some of them do
Is the onus on her
To lead and pursue
She’s capable
Of that I’m aware
Should it be the norm
Is that even fair
But Sisters
Do you refuse
To accompany a Brother
You didn’t choose
He’s not the one
Whom you selected
So he’s left feeling
Very rejected
It goes both ways
Brothers do that too
Were you “ideal”
When God chose you
Don’t date to marry
Date to get to know
Spiritually
You’ll both grow
