A year has passed
I live a new life
Still a Disciple
But without a wife
I took some time
To reflect and heal
Grieving a loss
Became too real
No longer angry
No longer bitter
Choosing not to slander
On Facebook or Twitter
Accepting what is
And encouraging others
Sharing my experience
With Sisters and Brothers
Many are hurting
And feel out of place
Covid didn’t help
No meetings face-to-face
Despite the challenge
I avoided isolation
Staying present
Within the congregation
But being Single
As an outnumbered male
I encounter Sisters
Whose faith is now stale
Single for years
With no interests in sight
I’m encouraged by those
Who continue to fight
Baptized for God
That goes without saying
But the desire for Love
Have some straying
Not pointing fingers
Just stating facts
Are we devoted to fellowship
As in the book of Acts
Encourage one another
We should all comply
Or we’ll continue to see
The faith of others die
