Could this year
Have been any worse
Are we currently
Under a curse
So many questions
The biggest is “Why”
Did so many loved ones
Get sick and die
I have no answers
I had my trials too
So I sincerely look forward
To 2022
But I’d be remiss
If I didn’t address
The many situations
God chose to bless
He protected me
By closing the door
When I saw red flags
But chose to ignore
He helped me to sprint
Through some painful trials
So I could persevere
Through the marathon miles
Increased my faith
When the impossible came
So I could sing praises
Of His holy name
Delta and Omicron
We’ve all been affected
But it made me focus
On things I’d neglected
Love deeply
And let them know
Before it’s your turn
Or theirs to go
Physical
And mental health
Both more important
Than monetary wealth
A challenging year
Now comes to a close
It could’ve been worse
I suppose
If you’re reading this
You survived it too
We’re blessed to be allowed
To see 2022
